Hi there👋
If you wandered into my page then you might have been looking for leftie cameras and found zero. Due to my own disability, I was able to create my own ”leftie camera.”Years ago I had a traumatic accident which injured my right hand/wrist. For a long time I couldn't take pictures at all. I fell into a real depression which left me mentally and physically destroyed. Little by little I started doing research to find gear that would make it so I could take pictures again, since I couldn't bend my fingers properly and I couldn't grip either. I created a set up that lets me cradle my Sony a7 III with my right hand, and a mounted remote shutter that I can trigger easily with my left. It’s not the typical setup, but it works —and it lets me focus on creating instead of hurting.

📸 Sony a7 III Full-Frame Mirrorless Camera

This Sony a7iii camera is my absolute favorite because it’s relatively lightweight for a full-frame camera and easier to manage one-handed compared to heavier bodies. It also has dual card slots for extra reassurance.
This Sony 85mm f/1.8 lens is my go-to fixed lens for portraits. It’s extremely lightweight and produces beautiful background blur without requiring constant adjustments while shooting.

📸 PROfezzion 164’ Wireless Shutter Release Remote Control for Sony

This PROfezzion wireless shutter release is essential for my setup. It allows me to take photos without pressing the shutter button on the camera. Instead, I can use my LEFT hand to press the shutter which is placed on the hot shoe of the camera(Just make sure you place it facing the correct way so it doesn’t hit your forehead when you are shooting) It also comes with a remote control shutter which you can also use to take your shot left handed. I find more stability pressing the hot shoe shutter but i have peace of mind knowing I can also use the remote control. I keep two of these shutters on hand so I’m never stuck without one since they do run on AAA batteries. I also keep lots of extra AAA batteries. The other essential part of my set up is my right hand strap. (Keep reading below)
📸 Altura Photo Camera Hand Strap

This Altura Photo hand strap has been a life saver. I use this strap because I can’t grip the camera securely with my right hand(the injured one) It anchors the camera to my wrist so I don’t drop it. My hand is pretty much cradled by the strap which is well made and adjustable so it’s a win win. Adding stability and reducing strain so I can shoot more safely and comfortably. Keep in mind that I don’t use my right hand to trigger the pictures, I use my left hand to press the trigger on the hot shoe of the Sony.
📸 Art Tribute Neck Strap for Mirorless Cameras

I use this Art Tribute neck strap to take pressure off my hands between shots and also to secure my camera in case my hand strap fails. This specific one has worked for me flawlessly. I love how long it is and the design is gorgeous. One thing I really want to emphasize(as pictured in image number 3) is that for my set up I hooked both the neck and hand strap to the same connection loop. I decided to do it this way so I have double protection in case one strap fails since I can’t grip the camera with my right hand.
📸Sony NP-FZ100 Rechargeable Camera Battery

I always carry at least two of these Sony NP-FZ100 batteries for my Sony A7iii. This way I don't have to rush or push myself physically during shoots. I can take breaks without worrying about running out of power. They are dependable and last a long time.
📸SanDisk 128GB Extreme PRO SD Card
Since my Sony A7iii has dual slots, I need speedy memory cards. I use these SanDisk 128GB cards. They are fast, affordable, and reliable. I always carry two in camera( Raw + JPG) and two extras in my bag just in case.

📸D-FantiX Universal Battery Tester
So my OCD told me to get this D-FantiX battery tester and I do not regret it one bit. Since my trigger system runs on AAA batteries I got this tester so I know exactly when to toss dead batteries.

This G-raphy camera backpack is literally perfection. It's medium sized and extremely well made. The pockets on the sides are stretchy enough to fit my water bottle. It has ALOT of cushion to keep my gear safe. And the inside is purple which makes me extra happy. And yes, I always carry baby wipes just in case.
This Enerbone water bottle is my baby and I don’t go anywhere without it. It fits perfectly on the side of my backpack, car compartment, etc.

After my nerve injury, gripping a camera the normal way became difficult. This setup lets me cradle the camera securely while triggering the shutter with my left hand. The strap supports the weight, the mounted trigger replaces the shutter button, and the accessories make it possible for me to keep shooting without putting stress on my injured hand.
